Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Monday, killed a mobile police officer at Garrision roundabout, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.Eyewitnesses said the gunmen had trailed the company vehicle the police officer was escorting from a bank.
“The incident happened in the afternoon. The vehicle the police officer was escorting was at Garrison when another vehicle barricaded it. Two men came out from the vehicle and made straight to where the Police Officer was sitting and opened fire on him.”“They shot him severally and the man died on the spot. They went to the boot of the vehicle and carried the money. The driver and one other person in the vehicle sustained bullet injuries and were taken to hospital,” he said.
