Malaysian University confirms death of Nigerian PhD student in immigration custody lindaikejisblogThe Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia has confirmed the death of Orhions Ewansiha Thomas, the Nigerian PhD student whose tragic demise in the country's immigration custody has led to series of protests.  The Selangor-based university in its tweet confirming the death of the Nigerian PhD student, described him as an 'inspired young man'. The tweet reads; “Pursuing his PhD in Management, Mr Thomas was an inspired young man. All of us at Limkokwing University wish to express our heartfelt wishes of love and support to all affected.”It is with the deepest regret that we report the demise of Orhions Ewansiha Thomas. All of us at Limkokwing University wish to express our heartfelt wishes of love and support to all affected. pic.twitter.com/NlheAJu8hy— Limkokwing Uni (@Limkokwing_MY) July 11, 2019 This came after Chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, called for an investigation into the death of Orhions Ewansiha which came days after being held in immigration custody.  Sending her condolences to the family of the deceased, his widow and two children over the painful loss, the Presidential aide said in a statement on Friday; “I urge the Nigerian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, to open an investigation into the death of Ewansiha.
