Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo believes his move to Manchester United has gotten more Nigerians to support the club.
Ighalo joined the premier league side on deadline day in January and has a goal to his name after Thursday’s Europa League Round of 32 clash against Club Brugge.
“Yeah many Nigerians are now supporting Man United as I’m the first Nigerian to play for Man United. Even here in the UK, many are coming to watch the games,” Ighalo said to United’s official Twitter account.
“I saw them after the game yesterday, they were singing and dancing and it was great for me. It was great support for me and the team.
“I saw them! Some people sent me some videos with what they were doing outside the stadium. I was very pleased with that.
“I stopped after the game and took pictures with them. I had to thank them for their support.”
