Super Eagles and Leicester ace Wilfred Ndidi has responded to speculation over a £50m move to Manchester United or Arsenal this summer.

The defensive midfielder has been one of the stars of Leicester’s season with the Foxes third in the Premier League table and well on course for Champions League qualification.

Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal

His form has seen him linked with the likes of United and the Gunners, with the latest rumours suggesting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are the favourites to land the Nigeria international.

But the 23-year-old has insisted he is happy at the King Power Stadium and is not looking to move to one of the Premier League’s traditional ‘big six’.

“I still have a contract at Leicester,” said Ndidi, who is committed to the Foxes until 2024.

“I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I’m doing okay here so no need to go anywhere.

“We are doing well and I’m enjoying myself here.”

United are expected to strengthen their midfield this summer, with Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Declan Rice widely reckoned to be among Solskjaer’s targets.

Ndidi could add steel to United’s engine room, and could also provide central defensive for the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

The midfielder could also be on Arsenal’s radar, having been linked with interest from Mikel Arteta’s side during the January transfer window – although a move was never likely with Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester in the driving seat for a top-four place.

But former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor said the Gunners should move for the midfielder this summer.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Agbonlahor said: “Yeah, I think the way he’s been playing for Leicester, he’s got the legs in midfield, he can play the ball forward as well, he can win the ball back.

“But Leicester are doing better than Arsenal at the moment so they’re not going to sell their players.”

However, Agbonlahor reckoned Ndidi would be tempted if a club with the stature of United or Arsenal expressed an interest.

Asked whether Ndidi would want to join Arsenal, Agbonlahor said: “Definitely. I think with the history Arsenal have got, they’re still a massive club.”
