Los Blancos have been back in training for two weeks ahead of LaLiga Santander’s restart, but thoughts are also on potentially playing the Champions League in August.

“We have the desire, the will and the excitement to go back to that game and fight to turn it around in order to qualify,” Valverde told Real Madrid TV.

“We can never lack the desire at this club to go for it all.”

Turning his thoughts back to LaLiga Santander, Valverde hopes that Real Madrid can overturn Barcelona’s two-point lead at the top of the table.

“We must keep on training hard for the rest of the season and hopefully we will win the league,” Valverde stated.

“I’m looking forward to wearing this shirt again and showing why we’re here and fighting for the goal of being champions.”

The Uruguayan is glad to be back around his teammates after two months of confinement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s a pleasure to see my teammates again and to be able to enjoy this beautiful training ground,” Valverde said.

“We really missed sharing talks and training sessions and we really appreciate being able to advance from one phase to another.”
