Paris Saint-Germain cruised into the French Cup final with a resounding 5-1 win over Olympique Lyon on Wednesday evening.
Neymar returned for the visiting side after serving a one-match suspension over the weekend, while Karl Toko Ekambi replaced Bertrand Traore for the hosts.
Lyon went in front against the run of play on 11 minutes when good work from Ekambi down the left ended with Martin Terrier, who ran onto the ball for a sliding finish past Keylor Navas.
PSG needed just four minutes to hit back after Kylian Mbappe helped Layvin Kurzawa’s towering header from a corner into an unguarded net with the slightest of touches.
The tie should’ve swung back into Lyon’s favour after the half-hour mark as Terrier failed to get the better of Navas after being sent clear by Moussa Dembele.
Edinson Cavani, on the other hand, could’ve put his side ahead at halftime though his first-time strike found the woodwork following a combination with Neymar.
The game turned 61 minutes gone with Marcal sent packing for an outstretched arm in the box, forcing the man in the middle to give a penalty which Neymar dispatched to put PSG ahead.
Mbappe wasn’t to be outdone on 71 minutes as he skipped past a couple of players whilst running at the defence to beat Anthony Lopez with cool composure after venturing into the box.
