Ronaldo using rugby studs to get extra advantage on the pitch

Ronaldo using rugby studs to get extra advantage on the pitch

Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly using new studs inspired by rugby to get an extra advantage on the pitch.

According to Tuttosport and Sport Mediaset, CR7 believes the change to his boots will get a stronger grip on the turf and enable him to run faster.

It’s not entirely a new idea, as Montpellier forward Andy Delort has already been using these studs since February 19.

They seem to be working, as Delort set a record for this season in Ligue 1 by sprinting at 36.8km/h.

These are likely to be rubber studs more than metal, allowing for greater flexibility and speed.
