Current UEFA Champions League holders Bayern Munich are predicted to defend Europe’s top-tier club competition, according to data analysts FiveThirtyEight.

Hans-Dieter Flick’s men defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final as Bayern ended their sensational season with a treble.

And now FiveThirtyEight has predicted that Bayern have a 33 per cent chance of making the final and 21 per cent chance of retaining their championship status.

Manchester City were one of the favourites to win the Champions League last season until they were unceremoniously dumped out of the quarter-finals by Lyon.

However, FiveThirtyEight’s predictions have a 28 per cent chance of Pep Guardiola’s men reaching the final and 16 per cent chance of winning the competition this season.

Posted below are FiveThirtyEight’s predictions for the 2020-21 season of the Champions League.
